About Me
My journey into special education began in high school, where I taught persons with disabilities how to swim. That experience sparked a passion that has guided me through the past 12 years as a paraeducator, teacher, advocate, and district administrator in both public and charter schools across Washington.
I became an advocate because I was tired of seeing organizations take advantage of those who simply didn’t know their rights. My goal is to change that. I operate with full transparency, making sure folks understand every step of the process. I don’t just advocate —I teach you how to advocate for yourself, and others. Ultimately, I want you to leave my services empowered and confident without me sitting at the table next to you.
As both an educator, advocate, trainer, and a mother, I know the fierce protector instinct parents feel for their children. Advocacy, to me, is about channeling that instinct into collaboration: ensuring folks access their legal rights while also helping improve practices. I’m not here to get anyone “in trouble”—I’m here to build bridges, empower, and create better outcomes.
I am a non-attorney advocate. I cannot provide legal advice, but I can guide, support, educate, and empower folks to make sure their voice is heard and their needs are met.
Why My Logo Matters
My logo is modeled after the Celtic shield knot, a symbol of protection and strength that also reflects my Irish heritage. The shield knot was used for centuries as a sign of safeguarding, and for me it represents the heart of advocacy: standing beside families and protecting the rights of folks with special needs. Just like the knot’s unbroken lines, I believe in advocacy that is strong, continuous, and deeply rooted in care.
