About Me

My journey into special education began in high school, when I taught children with disabilities how to swim. That experience sparked a passion that has guided me through the past 11 years as a paraeducator, teacher, and district administrator in both public and public charter schools across Washington.

I became an advocate because I was tired of seeing schools and districts take advantage of families who didn’t know their rights. My goal is to change that. I operate with full transparency, making sure families understand every step of the process. I don’t just advocate for parents—I teach them how to advocate for themselves. Ultimately, I want families to leave my services empowered and confident to advocate for their students without me sitting at the table next to them.

As both an educator and a mother, I know the fierce protector instinct parents feel for their children. Advocacy, to me, is about channeling that instinct into collaboration: ensuring students access their legal rights while also helping schools improve their practices. I’m not here to get anyone “in trouble”—I’m here to build bridges, empower families, and create better outcomes for kids.

I am a non-attorney advocate. I cannot provide legal advice, but I can guide, support, and empower families to make sure their child’s voice is heard and their needs are met.

Why My Logo Matters

My logo is modeled after the Celtic shield knot, a symbol of protection and strength that also reflects my Irish heritage. The shield knot was used for centuries as a sign of safeguarding, and for me it represents the heart of advocacy: standing beside families and protecting the rights of students with special needs. Just like the knot’s unbroken lines, I believe in advocacy that is strong, continuous, and deeply rooted in care.
